Care Home Chef Job

Main purpose of job

To plan and provide nutritious meals for Patrons and Team Members on a daily basis.

Main responsibilities

To ensure food purchased is fresh and within budget.
To ensure all Health & Safety and Environmental Health standards are achieved and maintained.
To ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and to report any defects to management.

Main duties

Plan, prepare, cook and present balanced meals and beverages to the highest standard.
Cater for cultural and dietary needs, choice and preference of Patrons and Team Members.
Direct and supervise all kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with their responsibilities with regard to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
Manage and maintain accurate stock control.
Check and maintain First Aid equipment within the kitchen.
Monitor temperature controls.
Keep accurate HACCP records in line with current Food Hygiene regulations.
